2018 #Goals, Career, Health, Relationships & Getting Personal
Alright y'all, it's official resolution-making season. I don't know about you but I get extremely motivated and goal oriented this time of year. I love setting new expectations and challenges for myself. 2017 was not overly fantastic for me, hence why I am excited to start fresh with a clean slate.
My blog is titled Personally Paige, yet I haven't been extremely open on this blog which is something I'm looking forward to changing in 2018. I'd like to share more of my life both good & bad, advice and my thoughts on topics beyond fashion & beauty. I am constantly looking to grow as a person both personally and professionally and one topic I want to discuss on here in depth in 2018, is self-criticism, not in relation to looks, but with my career. I struggle with perfectionism and I have high expectations for myself, which can sometimes be unrealistic and lead to stress. I think being more open on here will not only be insightful for readers but a great outlet for myself which is the main purpose of this blog!
January 1st, 2018 will mark my 5-year anniversary with my boyfriend, Jon! Half a decade, wow. We are both workaholics so I want to make sure we continue to get our weekly date night in, our favourites are dinner or a movie, plus spend more quality time together sans cell phones.
As for friendships, if you're reading this and you're my friend, I'm sorry. I am absolutely terrible at texting back, calling people, making plans and catching up which is something I need to work on. In 2018, I want to make more time for coffee dates, drinks and brunches with the awesome people in my life.
Which might be the highlight of my year, In November I started a new job as a Marketing Specialist at a tech startup in Waterloo. It's been around two months now, and the career transition has been life-changing. I am happier, fulfilled and excited to go to work every day! I am new to the tech world, so I plan on diving into the B2B world and soaking up everything I can.
As for my eCommerce brand LOUD Makeup, which has been on the backburner, I plan to start fresh in 2018, with some new marketing material and a website refresh.
Health & Fitness
After thinking about it for years, in early August I became Vegetarian, and more recently switched to Pescetarian. Honestly, the diet change did not affect me health-wise (I felt the same), but a combination of not working out as often and too many carbs has led to a few extra pounds that I'm looking to shed. At the end of the year, I totally slacked off at the gym like most and lost some muscle which I'm looking to gain back early in the year. Luckily, I received some new workout gear for Christmas which has got me excited, plus the gym I attend, Movati, is amazing!
