Our Engagement Photos at Scotsdale Farm + What I Wore
They’e here! Our amazingly beautiful engagement photos taken by our insanely talented wedding photographer, Jess Imrie. I am extremely happy with how they turned out, the quick delivery and Jess is an absolute pleasure to shoot with! (seriously, book her).
When Jess recommended Scotsdale Farm and I saw photos of the location, I was sold right away. Located just outside Georgetown, Scotsdale Farm is a 531 acre heritage site that was donated by the Bennett Family through the Ontario Heritage Trust in 1982.
The area includes heritage buildings, rolling hayfields, ecologically sensitive forests, wetlands, and First Nations archeological sites.
Jon and I heard to the farm (a different one, not quite as photogenic) quite often so it seemed like a good fit for us. The theme of our wedding is earthy, nature & greenery, so that also made the farm a good choice.
Our Dog Dexter
Yes, we brought our pride and joy, Dexter also known as Dexteroni! I knew from the start that I wanted to include our dog in the shoot, after all, he is an important member of our family and we don’t have any pics of us all together!
Dexter’s favourite place in the world is the cottage and the farm, so he had a blast running around. He actually posed with us at the beginning which was SO CUTE. The pictures with him are my favourites.
I really wanted a styled engagement shoot, but I also wanted it to feel authentic, natural and not overly staged. So I decided on a few props which included a beige throw blanket, champagne, his & her champagne flutes, an ice bucket, wood cutting board & a bouquet of flowers.
We set up the “picnic” area first in the field and having some Vueve really set the mood — ha! I love how the props added and didn’t take away from us.
I really wanted to wear something unique but also that fit the colour scheme of our wedding. I was pretty dead set against not wearing a dress, especially a white one — saving that for the big day.
I fell in LOVE with the Wilfred Écoulement Jumpsuit in the Sagesse and as soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect. It’s such a flattering piece and I’ve already worn multiple times, including a wedding and our engagement party. You can dress it up or down and no doubt it’s a piece I will have and love for a long time.
I paired the jumpsuit with some nude block heeled sandals from Aldo.

I can’t wait to print and frame some of these immediately, especially since we are MOVING so we have a new house to hang all of our new family photos.
