#Benefaves, Influenster & First Impressions on Benefit Ka Brow!
The Ka Brow Eyebrow Cream-Gel Colour was the product I was most intrigued and excited to try out of the #Benefaves VoxBox! Unfortunately, the shade was not a perfect match. I was sent 03, but my match would be 02. I know this because I purchased the Benefit Goof Proof Eyebrow pencil. Fun fact about me, although I am a huge makeup fanatic, VIB Rouge anyone? I have never, I repeat never tried a cream brow gel. I have no idea why I was scared of the gel! I assumed that gel would look less natural over pencil but I was wrong.
The Ka Brow cream-gel is extremely easy to apply, arguably easier than using a pencil. It is also easier to get that crisp straight line. I will 100% be purchasing my correct shade in this product because I am HOOKED. To see how I used this product, please watch my YouTube video below!
I have to admit, I am not much of a primer girl therefore you may want to take this review with a grain of salt. When you have oily skin the last thing you want to do is add another silky product on your face besides moisturizer. I will occasionally use a primer on days where my skin is very dry. This product has a skin coloured tint to it which really surprised me! I assumed it would have been clear or white like most primers. I applied this in my t-zone after my moisturizer and before my makeup. Honestly, I did not see a big difference in pore size or the texture of my skin after using this primer. I used it a few days in a row and I stopped because I felt I wasn't getting the desired results which is sad because this primer has AMAZING reviews! I do have large pores, maybe they are too large? *sad face emoji.*
One thing I did love about this product is that it smelled heavenly so that was a huge plus. I am going to finish up my sample tube and see if I get different results. I might try putting more on and see how that goes. Wish me luck!
Another first impressions was the They're Real Lengthening Mascara. I have tried a few mascaras from Benefit Cosmetics including Bad Gal Lash which used to be my holy grail choice in my early twenties. I am a fan of big, bushy, oversized mascara wands which is why I liked Bad Gal. Normally, I shy away from "spiky" mascara wands, because I don't get the desired thickness which is the case with "They're Real".
Does this mascara lengthen? Hell yes it does! I was actually very surprised the length this mascara gave my lashes. Although I didn't get my desired thickness, I would 100% use this mascara again, especially on days where I want more of a natural makeup look. One thing I loved about this product was how it transformed my bottom lashes. It's easy for the lower lash to clump, but this brush was perfect for application.
I feel like I don't need to write a long review on this bronzer, because I just spoke about my love and devotion to Hoola Bronzer in a recent post, My Most Repurchased Makeup Items.
Like stated in that post, I have been using Hoola since I was around 18 years old. I absolutely love this bronzer and will probably continue using it until the end of time! If you haven't tried it and you have fair-to-medium skin, I would give it a whirl because it's the perfect shade. Not too warm or cool. The fact that Benefit Cosmetics is sold at Shopper's Drug Mart in Canada makes these products very accessible!
Thoughts on Influenster
Influenster is a community of over 4 million social media influencers and content creators. The purpose of the website/app is to stay on top of the latest products, review products, share honest opinions on brands and test products for free based on your social media influence.
I signed up in mid-October and by the end of October I had a Influenster VoxBox waiting in my mailbox! Once you sign up, you connect all of your social accounts and you can see your Impact Score based on your numbers. You also fill out surveys which help Influenster know what types of products you are interested in, in my case, makeup. I'm super happy I was chosen to be sent this box because not everybody gets sent products to test. As you can see, not only do you get sample sizes, but also full sized products which makes it worth it in my opinion. When I first started my blog, years ago now I mainly focused on makeup reviews because I love sharing my thoughts!
Hope you enjoyed this post and my thoughts on these Benefit products. Have you tried any of these and what were your thoughts?! Let me know in the comments!
