Maybelline FIT ME Matte + Poreless Foundation Review!
Summer has finally (kind of) arrived! Which also means oily, shiny summer skin. Glow is nice, oil slick is not! Hence, why when I saw Maybelline FIT ME! Matte + Poreless at Walmart, I had to try it. Anything labeled "matte" calls my name, because I suffer from oily skin, especially once the warmer weather and humidity hits.
APPLICATION & FINISH
is a medium to full coverage foundation that is meant to leave a smooth, pore-less, matte finish. I have been wearing Fit Me to my serving job for the past week and I am IN LOVE. This is truly a matte foundation. It is not too thick unlike some other matte foundations I have used. It has a thinner consistency that is buildable. I have been using the shade 145 Nude Beige which matches very well, but is a touch too pink. I might try a different shade when I repurchase.
Once the foundation is dry, it has a ultra-soft powder-y finish. It feels a bit dry (hence the matte finish). If you have dry skin I would not recommend Fit Me Matte and Poreless, you might be better off with the original Fit Me. It's very important to prep your skin before applying. I use Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and then my La Roche-Posay Anthelious Ultra-fluid lotion SPF 60 before applying this foundation. I find that I don't need to set this foundation with a powder which is amazing! It also lasts all day and I don't get shiny at work like I do when I use my L'Oreal Lumi.
I prefer a pump top foundation bottle because it's the easiest to apply to my LOUD Makeup Flat Kabuki Brush (aka holy grail foundation brush). This glass foundation bottle has a screw off plastic lid which exposes a large hole in which you must pour the foundation out. I haven't had many issues with this, I just dump some on the brush. You have to be careful not to use too much though.
The price might be the best part about this product! Depending on where you buy it, this foundation will run you around $9-$11 CAD which is so insanely cheap. I honestly did not think I would like this foundation as much as I do. If you're on a budget and are looking to try something new I highly recommend Maybelline Fit Me Matte & Poreless.
